Just a few short weeks ago we lost Dr. Michael Davidson, a dear colleague and friend. Mike was a cardiac surgeon and director of Endovascular Surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He passed away on January 20 after a shooting in the Shapiro Cardiovascular Group.
Since that tragedy, many of our patients have expressed their shock and grief, as well as shared fond memories of Mike caring for them.
We first started working with Mike several years ago. The Lown Group is closely affiliated with Brigham and Women’s Hospital and if hospitalization or invasive procedures are needed, we make every effort to admit our patients there. Mike was one of our favorites at Brigham and Women’s.
Fully trained in cardiac surgery and cardiology, Mike was a unique and highly trained physician. But what’s more, he had extraordinarily gifted way of dealing with patients. With his training and philosophy of care, Mike could offer the most sophisticated treatment options and exceptional care for our patients who required complicated procedures.
All of us here at the Lown Group – and more importantly, our patients – were impressed with his exceptional skill and care and we quickly built a close connection with Mike that has lasted for several years. We will miss him very much and our thoughts and prayers go out to Mike and his family.
The Brigham and Women’s community is invited to write a note in the online guestbook.
